Barrie Soundwaves Youth A Cappella Festival

From workshop to stage in one exciting week.

Curious about singing in harmony?

Our Youth A Cappella Festival is a welcoming workshop for singers ages 8–18, open to all genders, who want to explore four-part harmony and experience the excitement of making music together. No prior experience is needed — just a willingness to try something new.

Participants will develop vocal skills, discover how harmony works, and sing alongside supportive mentors in a relaxed and encouraging environment.

The experience culminates in a performance at our holiday show the following week, where participants will present the music they’ve learned during the workshop. They will also join the chorus and other singers for the show’s finale, sharing the stage as part of a larger celebration of a cappella singing.

Participants will also be invited to a joint rehearsal during the week with the chorus and other community singers, where they will rehearse the finale together and experience what it’s like to prepare for a live performance with a larger ensemble.

This unique opportunity allows young singers to experience the full journey of creating music together — from learning and rehearsal to performing on stage.
